“You’re blessed when you can show people
how to cooperate instead of compete or fight.
That’s when you discover who you really are,
and your place in God’s family.”
Matthew 5:9 (The Message)
Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful
for building up, as there is need,
so that your words may give grace to those who hear.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you
were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.
Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger
and wrangling and slander, together with all malice,
and be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:29-32 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.”
Matthew 5:9 (NRSV)
Peace: eirene (Greek) – shalom (Hebrew)
“,,,peace means not only freedom from all trouble, it means enjoyment of all good.”
(The New Daily Bible Study, The Gospel of Matthew, Vol. One, p. 125)
Barnabas as a peacemaker
Acts 9:26-27
The ultimate expression of becoming a peacemaker
means knowing and having a personal relationship
with the Prince of Peace, Jesus.
When you are a peacemaker, people can see the resemblance to that of the Father,
and you will be called a child of God.\
What’s it going to be?
Are you going to be a peacemaker or a troublemaker?
Are you bringing people together or tearing apart?
Are you a part of the Good News or the bad news?
You Choose. I Choose. We Choose.
