Classic Hits Vol. 2 Turn Turn Turn

delivered by

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

Written by Pete Seeger
Based on Ecclesiastes 3

Ecclesiastes 3:1 King James Version (KJV)

For everything there is a season,
a time to every purpose under heaven:

PAST – NOW – FUTURE

Today is the tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday.

Psalm 118:24 (NRSV)

Today is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Ecclesiastes 3:1(KJV)

For everything there is a season,
a time to every purpose under heaven:

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

Written by Pete Seeger
Based on Ecclesiastes 3

A time to love, a time to hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

Sometimes there are seasons where
we pull away from God,
often because we feel that God let us down,
because we got lazy,
or weren’t willing to put time
and energy into the relationship.

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late

A Facebook post that we shared:

If you asked me when I was 18 years old if I would ever be submitting my final college portfolio I would have responded with a resounding “not a chance”. I remember being 18 years old and 75 pounds, and I remember blacking out on The Green during just my 4th day at UD. I remember my doctor telling me that I could have a “college experience” or I could have my life, but at 75 pounds and still losing, I would not be able to have both.

During my year and a half of medical leave after that, there were a lot of people who told me I wouldn’t ever go back– including myself. I remember the first day I stumbled upon online classes, and realized that I could still figure out a way to get a college degree while working on getting my strength back. And now, JUST NOW, I have submitted my final portfolio for my degree– I AM FINISHED WITH SCHOOL!!!

It wasn’t the way I had planned, and it wasn’t the timing I had planned. It wasn’t the school I had planned, it wasn’t the major I had planned, and it came at a greater cost than I had planned (not talking about money)– yet I couldn’t be more thankful that God sees the whole picture even when I don’t, and that I don’t need to see the whole picture in order to say “yes” to what HE has planned for me. The obstacles have only made tonight THAT much more meaningful. YOU GUYS…..Guess what?!?! I FINISHED!!!!!!!!!
