Small Part - Big Impact True Friends

delivered by

The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites
at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with
the staff of God in my hands.”

Exodus 17:8-9 New International Version (NIV)

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid.
Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you;
you need only to be still.”

Exodus 14:13-14 (NIV)

“If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

Exodus 16:3 (NIV)

So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—
so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Exodus 17:10-13 (NIV)

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up. But pity anyone
who falls and has no one to help them up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24 (NIV)

My command is this: Love each other
as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this:
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

John 15:12-13 (NIV)
