Stretched Perseverance

delivered by

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day,
and not to me only but also to all who have loved
His appearing.

Perseverance:
continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition

Proverbs 24:16a
For a righteous man may fall
seven times and rise again.

I am not a failure, I am a faithful servant and I will rise again!

Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Perseverance is a continued effort to do or achieve something.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and Life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Psalm 141:3
Set a guard O Lord, over my mouth,
keep watch over the door of my lips.
