Nothing too Big, Nothing too Small

delivered by

“O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm.
Nothing is too hard for you!”

Jeremiah 32:17 New Living Translation (NLT)

Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened.
God made two great lights—the larger one to govern
the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars.
God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
And evening passed and morning came,
marking the fourth day.

“He also made the stars.”

God is Big enough to concern Himself with those little things in my life.

“What is the price of five sparrows—
two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one
of them. And the very hairs on your head
are all numbered. So don’t be afraid;
you are more valuable to God than a whole
flock of sparrows.

Genesis 1:14-19 (NLT)

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with
his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

Laminins – glycoprotein component of connective tissue basement membrane that promotes cell adhesion

In a sermon, Pastor Louie Giglio asks how we can know that God will hold us together (which he infers from Psalm 33). He states, “That’s really what we want to know today, and I’ll tell you how you can know today that God will always hold you together,
no matter what.” Mr. Giglio then discusses the function of laminin (as glue), and its structure (a cross) in the body. He relates this to Colossians 1:17, which states, “He [Christ] is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” His argument is basically that God designed laminin in the shape of a cross and gave it the particular function of “glue” in the body so that we can know (in his words) the truth that Christ holds all thing together.

-Laminin and the Cross: Is There a Connection?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him.
