For I am not ashamed of this Good News
about Christ. It is the power of God at work,
saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith.
As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith
that a righteous person has life.”
Romans 1:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT)
“I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ.” – Romans 1: 16a
As he was approaching Damascus on
this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul!
Why are you persecuting me?”
“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked.
And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Acts 9:3-6 (NLT)
This Good News had the power to transform human life!
“It is the power of God at work, saving everyone
who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.” – Romans 1: 16b
Dynamis = Power // The power to move things. The power to change things.
Can an Ethiopian change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots? Neither can you start doing good, for you have always done evil.
Jeremiah 13:23 (NLT)
Soteria = Salvation // rescue, to make safe, to deliver.
PAST – We were saved from the penalty of sin by the death of Christ on the cross.
PRESENT – We are being saved from the power of sin by His resurrected life and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
