Deuteronomy 1: 1-25

Rebellion against the Lord

Deuteronomy 1:26-46

“Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”

Deuteronomy 1:29-31 (NIV)

“As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. But as for you, your bodies will fall in this wilderness. Your children will be shepherds here for forty years, suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. For forty years — one year for each of the forty days you explored the land — you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.”

Numbers 14:31-35 (NIV)

“Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities
were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me,
I will drive them out just as he said.”

Joshua 14:12 (NIV)
