“But by the grace of God I am what I am,
and His grace toward me was not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:10a

DIFFERENT STYLES OF EVANGELIZING (FAITH SHARING)
[Becoming a Contagious Christian by Bill Hybels and Mark Mittelberg]
1. Confrontational Style
Traits: confident, bold, direct, strong convictions and opinions
Cautions: avoid being judgmental, be careful about guilt trips,
allow Holy Spirit to restrain from coming on too strong
2. Intellectual Style
Traits: analytical, logical, inquisitive, concerned about how people
think rather than how they feel
Cautions: avoid being argumentative over academic points
3. Testimonial Style
Traits: clear communicator, vulnerable about personal ups/downs,
good listeners, overwhelmed with how God has reached them
in their life
Cautions: be sure to relate “God experiences” to life of listener,
don’t stop telling own story but challenge listener to consider
how what they’ve heard might apply to their life
4. Interpersonal Style
Traits: conversational, compassionate, sensitive, friendship oriented
Cautions: try not to get so involved in building friendship and forget
ultimate goal is bringing personal to know Christ
5. Invitational Style
Traits: hospitable, persuasive, enjoys meeting new people,
sees outreach events as unique opportunities
Cautions: don’t get discouraged if invitation refused
6. Serving Style
Traits: others-centered, patient, see needs and finds joy
in meeting them, shows love more through actions
than words
Cautions: actions not substitute for words, don’t underestimate
value of serving, be realistic about time

I planted, Appollos watered, but God gave the increase.
I Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV)
Who are you and who is Christ calling you to reach out to
with the Good News?
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you
and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea
and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
For though I am free from all men I have made myself a servant to all
that I might win the more, and to the Jews I became as a Jew that I might win
those who are under the law, to those who are without law (not being without
law toward Christ) that I might win those who are without the law,
to the weak I became as weak that I might win the weak,
I have become all things to all men that I might by all means save some.
Now this I do for the gospel’s sake that I may be partaker of it with you.
1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (NKJV)
