Blessed When Your Faith Provokes Persecution

delivered by

“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution.
The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.”

Matthew 5:10 (The Message)

Persecution:
hostility and ill-treatment, especially because of race, political, or religious beliefs.

I respect each individual’s rights
to have their own thoughts, beliefs, and opinions,
but when you’re a city employee and those thoughts,
beliefs and opinions are different from the city’s,
you have to check them at the door.

-Councilman Alex Wan

“If you find the godless world is hating you, remember it got its start hating me.
If you lived on the world’s terms, the world would love you as one of its own.
But since I picked you to live on God’s terms and no longer on the world’s terms,
the world is going to hate you.”

John 15:18-19 (The Message)

“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution.
The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.”

Matthew 5:10 (The Message)

“Blessed are those who are persecuted
because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:10 (New International Version)
