Christmas Cravings We Crave Love

delivered by

1 John 4:8

God is Love

Luke 2:8-11 (King James version)

And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.

Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love Divine,
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and Angels gave the sign.

Love came down at Christmas!

Agape Love – Unconditional, unmerited, unearned love

1 John 4:7-10 (The Message)

My beloved friends,
let us continue to love each other since love comes from God.
Everyone who loves is born
of God and experiences a relationship with God.
The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love –
so you can’t know him if you don’t love.

This is how God showed his love for us:
God sent his only Son into the world
so we might live through him.
This is the kind of love we are talking about –
not that we once upon a time loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice
to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done
to our relationship with God.

God is Love! Jesus is Love!
Love came down at Christmas!

… And the reason is you!

John 1:9-14 (New Living Translation)

The one who is the true light,
who gives light to everyone,
was coming into the world.
He came into the very world he created,
but the world didn’t recognize him.
He came to his own people,
and even they rejected him.
But to all who believed him and accepted him,
he gave the right to become children of God.

They are reborn –
not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
So the Word became [flesh]
and made his home among us.
He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.
And we have seen his glory,
the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Is their room for Jesus in your heart, soul, and life?

Are you willing to give Jesus more space in your life?
