Soul Food:
1- The Ingredients

“It is by the cuisine and the table manners that the most fundamental social training takes place, and by which a society transmits and allows the internalisation of its values. It is by food that social bonds are interwoven and kept.” – Jean Pierre Poulain (anthropologist )
God has called each and everyone of us to serve
We must be prepared and ready to do so. How do we prepare to serve? And then how do we serve as God has called us to?
1 PETER
God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy.
1 Peter 1: 2 NEW LIVING TRANSLATION (NLT)
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11 (NLT)
1- The gifts God has given you are unique and individual to you and your calling.
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts.
1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.
1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 (NLT)
We are all a part of the same body, but we have different parts. No one else can do what you can do for the kingdom.
2. Use your gifts with all you’ve got!
“Do it with all the strength and energy…” 1 Peter 12: 11
When we use our gifts to serve, we are not serving from a place of obligation. We are serving from a place of joy in knowing that God created us to serve uniquely in this way.
Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received…
1 Timothy 4:14 (NLT)
This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you…
2 Timothy 1:6 (NLT)
3. It’s all for God and bringing Him glory.
Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.”
1 Peter 4:11 (NLT)
My purpose for writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.
1 Peter 5: 12 (NLT)
