One Offs Just Show Up

Show Up…

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100 English Standard Version (ESV)

Show Up on Time…

When Jesus arrived at Bethany, he was told that Lazarus had already been in his grave for four days. Bethany was only a few miles down the road
from Jerusalem, and many of the people had come to console Martha and Mary in their loss. When Martha got word that Jesus was coming,
she went to meet him. But Mary stayed in
the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.
But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.”
Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.”

John 11:17-23 New Living Translation (NLT)

“Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them.
But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested,
“Lord, he has been dead for four days.
The smell will be terrible.”
Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”
So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said,
“Father, thank you for hearing me. You always
hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus,
come out!” And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them,
“Unwrap him and let him go!”

John 11:39-44 (NLT)

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others.
Be humble, thinking of others as better
than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your
own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT)

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT)

Show up on time, dressed to play!

Psalm 118:24: Today is the day the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves,
you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all,
clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Colossians 3:12-15 (NLT)
